What is Chandra Grahan?
Chandra Grahan, or a Lunar Eclipse, occurs when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon, causing the Earth’s shadow to fall on the Moon.
How does a Lunar Eclipse occur?
A lunar eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth, and Moon align closely in a straight line. Depending on how much of the Moon enters Earth’s shadow, the eclipse can be total or partial.
Types of Lunar Eclipse:
- 🌑 Total Lunar Eclipse
- 🌒 Partial Lunar Eclipse
- 🌘 Penumbral Lunar Eclipse
Scientific Significance:
A lunar eclipse is a natural astronomical event. During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon may appear reddish or orange, commonly known as a “Blood Moon.”
Important Note:
Unlike a solar eclipse, viewing a lunar eclipse with the naked eye is generally safe. Special eye protection is not required.
